The term broadcasting means the transmission of radio or video content using radiofrequency waves. With the recent advancement in digital technology, radio broadcasting now applies to many differing kinds of content distribution. Today you’ve got the choice of tuning in to more kinds of radio stations than ever before.

Analog Radio

Analog station frequently feeds only one transmitter and mentioned as an AM station or an FM station within the U. S. But it's quite possible for a station to feed both transmitters in similar areas or to feed quite one transmitter covering different areas.

Digital Radio

Four standards for digital radio systems exist worldwide: IBOC, DAB, ISDB, and DRM. 

DAB:

Also mentioned as Eureka 147 within the U. S. And as digital radio within the U. K. DAB comes with quite advantage almost like IBOC. But it's fundamentally different in its design. Recently, improved version of DAB, mentioned as DAB+ and DAB IP, are developed.

ISDB-TSB:

Specifically developed for Japan in 2003, ISDB TSB is that the digital radio system used for multi-program services. it's currently using transmission frequencies within the VHF band. a singular feature of ISDB TSB is that the digital radio channel are intermingled with ISDB digital TV channels during a consistent broadcast.

DRM:

DRM could also be a system developed primarily as an instantaneous substitute for AM international broadcasting within the radio emission band. DRM uses a similar channel plan because of the analog services and with some limitations and changes to the analog service.  Existing channel allocation DRM could also be one audio channel system when used with.

Sirius XM:

Sirius XM is that the combination of two similar but competing satellite radio services: XM satellite radio and Sirius satellite radio. They broadcast quite 150 digital audio channel intended for reception by car, portable, and glued receivers. These provide coverage of the entire continental us, much of Canada and parts of Mexico
